Marinaded Herrings

  • 6 medium filleted herring
  • 1 tablespoon salad oil
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 dessert apple
  • Salt and pepper



Mix oil, vinegar and milk in a large shallow dish
Season
Peel and slice onion and apple and arrange half in the bottom of the dish
Place herrings on top
Cover with the remaining onion and apple
If not covered by the marinade, add a little more vinegar.
Leave overnight - no cooking necessary
